Art has always been a part of Lauren Speakman’s life. From a small child drawing intricate chalk characters on her parent’s driveway to a college student painting mixed media landscapes, Lauren has been in love with painting and drawing throughout her life.
At East Carolina University, Lauren focused on painting and drawing while also gaining experience in additional art fields such as metal and wood working, sculpture, printmaking, and textiles, to name a few. In 2008 she was a part of a study abroad program and spent a month in Italy. In 2010, she graduated from ECU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in painting and drawing.
For the next four years, Lauren worked in the retail business as a custom framing manager. Wanting to keep up with the digital world and expand her artistic skills to include photography and design, she returned to school at Wake Technical Community College and graduated in 2016 with an Associate Degree in Advertising and Graphic Design.
Lauren runs her freelance graphic design and art studio called “Speakman Studios”. Her attention to detail combined with her numerous artistic skills has been successfully applied to all her projects, no matter how diverse. Her strong work ethic helps her to attain the best possible results for her and her client’s satisfaction.
